IMPORTANT- CLUB POLICY: By your signature(s) you agree that you understand the policy. Without deposit and a written conformation of the Club, we do not “hold” pugs for the adoptive parents for any time. All adoptive pugs are expected to be picked up at the time of the agreement of acceptance between the Club and adoptive owners.

If you wish to go on our adoption waiting list, Please fill out the adoption questionnaire by clicking the  PROPER FORM  button above.

*** RESCUE: We are located in all of British Columbia, with primary bases on Vancouver Island (in Duncan) and on the Mainland (in Surrey) . You may download our Rescue form from our web site. Please expect to pay a donated fee of about $500.00 or more in expenses for your rescue pugs adoption. We no longer can afford not to get back the expenses for these pugs and continue on rescuing them. Older pugs of 10 years or so will be reevaluated by the PDCBC  to decide on the amount of the rescue fee***

The Pug dog Club of BC rescues/adopts PUGS which no longer have homes.  These Pugs come from families who surrender their Pugs to the program because they can no longer care for them, from the SPCA, from city pounds, and from other situations all over British Columbia.  Before being adopted out to new homes, the majority of these pugs are given a health exam by our own veterinarian.  Pug teeth always need care, therefore, we no longer will pay for any dental treatment for any of these pugs.

Often these dogs are scared, unhealthy, and have behavioral problems.  The PDCBC offers these pugs to loving homes deemed to be best suited for that particular rescue Pug.  Pugs are not necessarily placed in order of first come, first serve basis.  The club reserves the right to place Pugs in homes best matched to the rescue Pug and reserves the right to refuse to place a rescue Pug in any home without written or verbal reason.

IMPORTANT: All adopted rescue Pugs are to be returned to the PDCBC rescue program if they can no longer stay in their adoptive homes.  They are not allowed under any circumstances to be placed in a second home by the adoptive family.  Adoptive families are responsible for food, shelter, veterinary care, etc.

Pug teeth always need care, therefore, we are sorry, but will no longer pay for any dental treatment for any of these pugs. HOW IT WORKS:

HOW WE GET OUR RESCUE PUGS-
Our donors care and are only interested in the best interests of their Pugs. They must sign a form that states all pertinent information on: house training health, age, last date of vaccinations, diet, etc. The form also states that they can have no contact with the new adoptive owners.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A RESCUE PUG FROM THE PDCBC-

The applicant fills out and signs a questionnaire and mails it through Postal Canada to the Club. From that questionnaire we discover what the prospective adoptee will take in a rescue pug including the following information:                                                            age, sex (all rescue pugs are spayed/neutered), colour, pair of pugs (inseparable ), not housebroken, not leash trained, barks/howls, hates nails being cut, has separation anxiety (cannot be left alone), not crate trained,  does not get along with children, does not get along with other dogs, does not get along with cats, extremely shy.

THE FINAL ADOPTION PROCESS FOR A RESCUE PUG FROM THE PDCBC-

There is no 'first-come-first served' policy. Once a pug comes along that seems to fit the criteria of the prospective adoptee, we will get in touch with them. They then have the option of taking the pug. If for some reason they do not accept, we move on down the line to the next prospective adoptee.
Adopters must sign a 'care' form that they will use Newton Animal Hospital for all their pugs needs, and will keep in contact with the PDCBC.
The form also states that they can have no contact with the past owner of the pug.

PDCBC RELEASE FORMS and PDCBC ADOPTION FORMS are provided by the PDCBC as needed.
